As a Business Development Officer, you will be responsible for the following:
• Establish, manage, and sustain constructive and productive relationships with civic, charitable, community, and local/state organizations to facilitate an appropriate level of support and contribution by the credit union to the community.
• Identify and implement TFCU's strategic initiatives, with special emphasis on the business strategies that achieve growth of membership, new business partners and underserved areas and increase market penetration.
• Advise TFCU management of relevant needs, pertinent business opportunities, and material or adverse developments in the business partner population to ensure maximum effectiveness of their activities.
Salary Range:
This is an exempt position. The starting salary range is $92,273.88 - $115,342.35 however, actual placement within the range will be determined individually based on your experience relative to organizational needs and internal salary equity.

Schedule:
Normally works a weekday schedule, but may be required to work evenings, holidays, or weekends. May be required to travel overnight with or without notice. Could be subjected to on-call status.

Education/Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public relations, advertising, or a related field for both levels is required. Applicable work experience and/or military experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two years of experience for one year of education. Applicable additional education levels or relevant but not required certifications may be eligible to satisfy minimum experience requirements. Requires four years relatable experience in areas such as community engagement, contract negotiations, event planning, business to business sales and/or banking processes. Experience with non-profits and/or financial institutions is preferred.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• Valid driver’s license, maintaining an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Incumbent Bonding REQUIRED by TFCU’s chosen authority.
• CUNA Credit Union Business Development Professional (CUBDP) designation required for Sr BDO.
• CUNA Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation required for Sr BDO.

• Must have the ability to motivate, influence and/or train others.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and the strong ability to foster relationships.
• Must have excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and public speaking.
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, employees, and members.
• Ability to use the Internet as a research and business development tool.
• Knowledge of product lines, corporate goals, and industry conditions. Ability to use contact management software.
