Position Summary

Shift: Mon-Thurs, 10 hour day.  Supervise all functions of the production line of mineral nutritional supplement ingredients.  Job requires a functional and keen understanding of weighing and measuring raw materials, blending and mixing operations, discharging product for drying, grinding, dry blending and packaging product for delivery.  Accurate record keeping and the ability to perform mathematical calculations is essential, as well as the ability to review and follow specific work instructions and bring any issues to the attention of the Production Manager.   Additionally, a knowledge of how to identify and solve problems within the production line at any stage of the process is expected.  Also expected of our production supervisor is the ability and willingness to guide a team to accomplish tasks with a spirit of teamwork and foster positive group cohesion.  Also required is the ability to train new and existing employees in all aspects of production and their most efficient processes to ensure continual throughput. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance.
  • Ensure that production targets are met in accordance with established schedules and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as quality control, and logistics, to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Handling production which involves formulation checks, physical weighing and measuring, as well as monitoring real time completion of quality documentation.
  • Assists in maintaining record keeping (batch formulation verification, cleaning logs, RM sampling, retained sample library, labels etc).
  • Must be skilled in all aspects of production and machinery including:

Blenders, hot water, deionized water, furnaces and racks, grinders, dry blending, air collection, and GMP cleaning requirements.

  • Acts as a liaison between production team and Manager.
  • Having a complete understanding of Actylis’s ISO and Standard Operating Procedure requirements and possess a functional understanding of how to implement procedural adjustments as the process evolves. 
  • Ensure appropriate checklists for production, cleaning and building are completed correctly at all locations.
  • Ensure logs and lists of necessary equipment, maintenance schedules etc. are completed correctly.
  • Provide support in the absence of Production Manager.
  • Train and develop production staff on operating procedures, equipment use, and safety practices.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Required Experience & Knowledge

  • Education and/or Experience:  High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to use scales and understand values.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse workforce.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness for additional training and professional development.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask.
