Job Summary:
The Product Owner II, Operations & Fleet Services, will play a critical role in shaping and delivering business solutions and operational processes for Fleet Services. Dedicated to the Fleet service within the Operations and Fleet Services Hub, a successful candidate will have experience in fleet management or similar environment, with a strong grasp of asset management strategies for large fleets (such as trucks, trailers, and forklifts) and a solid background in maintenance strategies. Acting as a key liaison between the Fleet, Operations, and delivery teams, the Product Owner will drive the delivery of technology solutions that add the most value to Estes. In close collaboration with the Business Hub Lead, this role will support the curation of a rolling long-term runway to modernize our Fleet technology. The Product Owner will work closely with business stakeholders, the IT Hub Lead, RTE, Scrum Masters, SMEs, and focus groups to ensure seamless communication and alignment. They will be instrumental in crafting epics and stories prioritized by the business, shaping and executing a product strategy aligned with departmental goals, contributing to business case development, while maintaining adherence to the Agile Scrum process.
- Define & communicate the overall vision, objectives, and goals of the product or service.
- Articulate the minimum viable product needs.
- Identify subject matter experts and create focus groups relevant to initiatives
- Enable delivery of Product Backlog by presenting backlog to team, creating, owning, and refining well-formed epics, and artifacts that describe and detail new products, features and services based on feedback from team, creating user stories and acceptance criteria with the team, and accepting stories as they are completed
- Contribute to the maturity, performance, and growth of the Agile team, ensuring that a definition of ready and definition of done exists at the epic and story level
- Be the Voice of the Customer by becoming an expert in the needs of our internal and external customers.
- Work daily with scrum teams to accept stories and bugs for implementation
- Organize and facilitate UAT testing
- Represent the team, as need, to external stakeholders, leaders, and other teams to ensure alignment and understanding progress of the teams’ work
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and redesign that will allow us to accomplish objectives more quickly and at a higher level of probability
- Partner with cross-functional teams to build, prioritize, and define workflows and requirements
- Create dynamic partnerships and a spirit of teamwork and collaboration
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies
- Continually defines ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen business relationships

Qualifications:
- College degree in Business Administration or Management in related area or any combination of education and technical experience which would provide an equivalent background
- Must have prior knowledge of Fleet Management and or best practices in management of fleet labor, maintenance and resources.
- Five years of previous experience as a Product Owner or similar role required, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry
- Demonstrated experience in strategic thinking, thought leadership, problem resolution and analytical decision-making required
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks required
- Demonstrated expertise using agile methodologies, principles, and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, SAFe or other scaled agile frameworks preferred
- Deep understanding of the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development, including hands-on experience in leading process improvement initiatives required
- Ability to identify emerging industry and business trends
- Strong influencing skills at senior levels to influence acceptance of new solutions or a new way of working
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to actively listen, to understand assignments and key stakeholder feedback
- Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently; flexible during times of change
