Advanced Practice Practitioner-NP or PA - Internal Medicine-Psychiatric Inpatient Unit-Part Time
We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled APP to join our well-established psychiatric inpatient unit team. We currently work with a team of dedicated medical APPs. The medical APP team provides a full-scope medical care for adult patients hospitalized for psychiatric care. We collaborate frequently with our psychiatrist team to provide comprehensive, coordinated care on behalf of our patients.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Complete H&P for each admission.
- Round and manage admitted patients to identify and/or treat medical conditions, both acute and chronic disease states.
- Evaluate, interpret, and coordinate information to make clinical decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
- Educate patients about disease management.
- Assist in formal discharge planning through a collaboration with entire team.
- Utilize the interdisciplinary team model to stabilize patients’ health.
Schedule:
Part Time 16-24 hours per week, with some call
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited NP (adult or family) or PA (NCCPA certified) program.
- Licensed to practice in the state of Iowa.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a care team.
- Passion for delivering medical care on behalf of patients with mental health or chemical dependency conditions.
- Ability to reprioritize tasks secondary to a rapidly changing work environment.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
