Position Summary

Cleaning patients’ teeth and evaluating their oral hygiene.
Educating patients about oral hygiene.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

These duties go together and makeup about 80% of a workday 

  • Removing plaque and calculus.
  • Polishing patients’ teeth.
  • lntraoral/extraoral screening.
  • Periodontal charting.
  • Taking, expose and mount radiographs.
  • Teaching appropriate brushing and flossing.
  • Administering local anesthesia.
  • Disinfecting operatories.
  • Checking stock, ordering supplies and restocking.
  • Applying sealants.
  • Cleaning and polishing patients teeth and perform lntraoral/extraoral screening.
  • Operatory set up and breakdown following proper infection control procedures.
  • Periodontal charting and documenting as necessary using the electronic health record.
  • Expose, process and mount digital radiographs.
  • Reviewing and updating patients health history.
  • Take preliminary impressions and pour models.
  • Ensure that all materials and supplies are readily available and stocked at all times.
  • Maintain order lists for instruments, materials, supplies regularly.
  • Assist with front desk responsibilities as needed. lncludes, but not limited to, making appointments, answering multi-line telephone, and patient check-out.
  • Educate patients, maintaining proper records and other patient related duties.
  • Maintain operatory and clinic cleanliness, this includes dusting and light housekeeping.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications

Education – A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.


Physical Requirements

Job requires repetitively lifting light weight objects where frequent bending or stooping alternates with lighter activities.


Work Environment

Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.


Licenses/Certifications

Dental Hygiene license, Local anesthesia license, radiology certificate, BLS certificate


Salary/Pay Information

Commensurate with experience


Anticipated Schedule

Days and times may vary, but never more than 29 hours per week.
