TITLE OF COURSE: Internet and Social Media Marketing

Section 02 - Mondays 1900-2200 - SYN (synchronistic, online class)

COMPENSATION

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. 

·         Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $21.43 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2023)

·         Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $33.72 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2023)

·         In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. 

DUTIES

The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.

· Lead Q&A sessions, specifically related to Mimic Pro Simulation.

· Lead Q&A sessions, specifically related to Google Ads and Social Media Marketing (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).

· Provides students with guidance and technical support on Google Ads and Social Media Marketing campaigns (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

· Provides assistance to faculty members with instructional material

· Provides detailed feedback to students regarding their assignments

· Provides students with guidance and technical support on course materials, study skills, secondary data search for their group projects

· Nominal hours will be a minimum of 10 hours and may increase due to student enrollment

QUALIFICATIONS

· Successful previous Teaching Assistant experience at an undergraduate level. For example, conducted tutorials, labs and/or review sessions.

· Previous experience in running Mimic Pro Simulation

· Previous experience in running Google Ads and Social Media Marketing campaigns (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).

· Must have completed MKTG4P93 (or equivalent) and attained a grade of 80% or higher

· Proficient English language.

  • Graduate Students enrolled at Brock University shall not accept an appointment in excess of an average of ten (10) hours per week over an academic term, in which she is enrolled as a full-time student, without the prior permission of the Dean of Graduate Studies; 
  • Undergraduate Students enrolled at Brock University shall not accept more than nine (9) Teaching Assistant appointments, or the equivalent of nine (9) Teaching Assistant appointments in any classification, per term minus the number of courses in which that student is currently enrolled; 
  • Part-time Graduate Students and Non-Students shall not accept any appointment which, taken together with all other appointments at the University, would cause the member to exceed the maximum number of regular hours (i.e. not overtime hours) allowable in a work week under the Employment Standards Act, as amended from time to time.
