Sr. Principal Engineer - Data Architecture
Procore TechnologiesAbout the role
Job Description
We're seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer - Data Architecture to join Procore's Construction Intelligence Division. In this role, you'll drive the design and architecture of some of Procore's most significant internal and customer-facing data systems. The construction industry is transforming in response to increased demand for a more collaborative and iterative design-build process that integrates design and constructability. To support this shift, we seek a candidate who can help bridge the historical disconnects between teams and technologies that have limited the industry's ability to fully leverage the benefits of technology, including increased efficiency and trust. As part of this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for improving integration between teams and technologies in the construction industry to enable more efficient and effective project delivery.
As a Sr. Principal Engineer - Data Architecture, you'll use your expert-level technical skills to craft innovative solutions while influencing and mentoring other senior technical leaders. To be successful in this role, you're passionate about distributed systems, event-driven architecture patterns, and building highly scalable, resilient, maintainable, and performant platform capabilities with a strong bias for action and outcomes. If you're an inspirational leader comfortable translating vague problems into pragmatic solutions that open up the boundaries of technical possibilities—we'd love to hear from you!
This position will report to the VP of Engineering with the opportunity to be located at our Austin, TX, offices. Remote candidates will be considered based on experience with the expectation of occasional travel to our other offices. We're looking for someone to join our team immediately.

Work with other architects and teams to improve interactions between business software components and between the teams that own them.

10+ years of experience designing, building, and operating cloud-based, highly available, and scalable online data and streaming systems utilizing large, diverse data sets in production
Expertise with data architecture, including event-driven approaches.
Strategic thought leader owning holistic platform architecture solutions for both functional and non-functional requirements
