Job Description
Western Digital is seeking a group of talented, highly-motivated interns to join our Global Supply Chain & Procurement team this summer. The ideal candidates will have a fundamental understanding of key business processes, excellent project management skills, and an ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
Interns in our Global Supply Chain & Procurement organization this summer can expect to gain experience in process improvement, data analytics, cross-functional collaboration in a global company, and executive-level communication.
Placements will be made across a variety of teams within Global Supply Chain & Procurement, including:
Global Logistics – Develop process improvements and conduct root cause analysis to drive success in Key Performance Indicators (KPI) across our Global Logistics organization
Risk Management – Perform research and inquiries, and analyze data to help guide Procurement towards implementing necessary steps to ensure supply chain risk resiliency
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement – Conduct spend analysis and supplier studies, and strategize on inventory optimization and vendor negotiations.
Indirect Procurement – Identify, develop, and implement automation solutions that optimize procurement processes and drive operational efficiency within Procurement
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Students who are currently seeking a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields who are graduating from between December 2025-June 2026
- Candidates who will not require relocation to the San Jose, CA area will be prioritized in the recruiting process.
SKILLS
- Experience in data analytics, including proficiency using Microsoft Excel. Additional skills in Python, SQL, and data visualization are a plus.
- Exposure to supply chain/procurement concepts, or past experience in the field, is preferred.
- Program/project management skillsets are a plus for this role.
- Strength in prioritization, time management and organizational skills
