This permanent position is with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) located at the Cole Rivers Hatchery in Trail, OR.
Play a part in providing healthy fish for Oregon! Take your passion for working in the outdoors by leading others and/or caring for fish and performing grounds and equipment maintenance at the Cole Rivers Fish Hatchery located in Trail.
What you will do:
• Assist hatchery manager in setting work goals and priorities in order to meet production objectives. Train and lead hatchery employees and volunteers in the safe use of equipment, procedures and work practices. Organize work and assign jobs in order to meet production goals. Monitor progress of work being accomplished by hatchery employees and volunteers in order to report to the hatchery manager on the status of projects.
• Participate in fish rearing. Set and monitor water flows. Monitor fish growth, development, feedings and water flows and keep accurate records. Move and handle fish in rearing cont
