We seek:
In the Faculty IV, Chemistry-Biology, Organic Chemistry I, we are looking for a scientific employee from October 1st., 2024 at the following conditions:
- 50% = 19,92 hours
- Pay grade 13 TV-L
- limited 3 years
Your tasks:
- Research in the field of supramolecular chemistry with the aim of obtaining a doctorate
- Independent research and practical laboratory work including the synthesis of organic ligands, investigating the self-organization of supramolecular structures and their properties (e.g. host-guest chemistry, photochemistry, stimuli-responsive properties)
- Collaboration with other scientists (e.g. in inter/national collaborations)
- Participation in the preparation and editing of publications and progress reports
- Teaching in the field of organic chemistry (e.g. the day-to-day supervision of Bachelor and Master’s research projects)
- Participation in research group tasks
Your profile:
- Above-average academic degree (Master or equivalent) in Chemistry
- A Master's thesis in the field of supramolecular chemistry is an advantage, especially with aspects of organic synthesis and coordination chemistry
- Experience with organic ligand synthesis, the synthesis of coordination complexes and cage compounds, the characterization of supramolecular structures such as cage compounds using spectroscopy (e.g. diamagnetic and paramagnetic NMR, UV/vis) and photochemistry
- Experience with/interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
- Very good knowledge of English
- Very good knowledge of German is an advantage
- Participation in scientific exchanges (e.g. conferences) and/or publications is desirable
- Experience in teaching, especially in the field of organic chemistry, is an advantage
