What is needed for this job as our Associate Director of Youth Development:
- 21+ years of age
- 1+ years administrative experience in programming
- Degree in education, sports management, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years experience as a program instructor in a recognized youth development, camp, sports, or childcare environment
- Strong communication, relationship building, member services, cash management and reconciliation, and problem solving skills
- Positive, professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to complete all trainings and certifications
The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Associate Director of Youth Development:
- Leadership of all youth/adult sports leagues, including program creation and management (meeting enrollment metrics), scheduling staff and quality control
- Train, coach, and lead youth and adult league coaches and volunteers
- Plan and lead youth development classes and local after school enrichment programs
- Help maintain positive relationships with school districts and rental partners
- Uphold member service and risk management practices across locations
- Provide strategic ideas to improve youth development programming by demonstrating innovation based on utilization of data and trends
- Be in ratio at sites as needed
- Provide building leaders with feedback regarding part-time staff and coaching opportunities
- Provide VP of Operations with building/staffing needs on a regular basis
- Address all member concerns immediately during the evening and weekend hours, elevating any critical concerns to the appropriate leader
- Support membership team through direct service coverage as led by supervisor
- Nurture 7th Grade Initiative, leagues, rentals, etc. by assisting with evening supervision of participants
- Complete all accident/incident reports as needed; submitting to supervisor
- Attend all meetings and trainings at request of supervisor
- Assist in YMCA special events
