Professional Support Staff - School Psychologist
About the role
As a DECYP Advanced Skills School Psychologist you will:
- provide leadership for your team in professional learning and practice and interagency liaison.
- undertake educational and psychological assessment and diagnosis in all areas of child and adolescent development.
- manage complex cases
- provide evidence-based interventions in collaboration with other staff, relevant professionals and parents
- provide professional learning and advice to build the capacity of schools and families to improve students’ learning and development.
You will be welcomed into a highly supportive, team-based environment. Your regional and statewide school psychology teams stay connected via regular meetings and online communication channels. You will work collaboratively with speech and language pathologists, school social workers, school health nurses and other staff.
About the Role
Work in schools as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a child and adolescent psychological service which supports students and families. Contribute to capacity building of school communities to improve access, participation, and achievement of students. Assist the Senior School Psychologist with the general leadership and management of the Learning Service School Psychology team.

We are looking for
Essential
- Qualifications as established by the Tasmanian Industrial Commission in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award.
- General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia in accordance with the provisions of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Tasmania) Act 2010.
- Approval from the Psychology Board of Australia as a Board-approved supervisor.
- Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment
Desirable
- A current driver's licence.
- Eligible for membership of the Australian Psychological Society.
