Essential Functions

• Subject to management approval, serves as the Midrange Systems Operations Manager for the Department of Innovation & Technology
• Evaluates, implements, and communicates the organization’s existing and future policies, procedures and security measures including, but not limited to, procurement, installation, configuration, and support of computing and technology equipment used directly by state personnel
• Manages data collection and reporting on technical environment Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics for systems administration, support operations, and data center operations
• Serves as full-line supervisor
• Assists the Division Manager in technical program budget preparation and assists in controlling appropriation of technology expenditures
• Leads and directs the evolution and development of the Midrange Systems infrastructure, data storage, software management/distribution and tools team
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in management information systems, data processing, telecommunication or directly related fields.
• Requires prior experience equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible management experience in management information systems, data processing or telecommunications in a public or business organization.
• Requires two (2) years of experience supervising a team of IT professionals.  

Preferred Qualifications

• Five (5) years of professional experience in Enterprise Data Center technologies that include Midrange systems, Public/Private Cloud, RPA/ML, Service Delivery and Support
• Four (4) years of professional experience supervising teams of highly technical staff. 
• Four (4) years of professional experience leading organizational, cultural and process changes supporting an organization’s goals and objectives.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible management experience in a public or private IT organization.
• Three (3) years of experience composing and presenting narratives, business cases and executive summaries to executives, organizational leaders, and large groups. 
• Two (2) years of professional experience in vendor relationship management to include development, procurement and implementation of goods and services. 
• Two (2) years of professional experience configuring and utilizing enterprise tools to monitor and report on data center operations.
