<h1><b>About the Role:</b></h1><p></p><p><b>Grade Level (for internal use):</b></p>11<p><b>The Team: </b>The EMEA Enterprise Controller team is responsible for the month end close, management & statutory reporting and internal controls across the region. The team values collaboration across various corporate functions, in delivering to our internal & external stakeholders, and a strong team ethic. The role reports to the German Controller embedded in an international team.</p><p></p><p><b>The Impact: </b>The role will be responsible for all financial duties for some German entities and any other countries that are deemed appropriate. We are looking for a candidate who is a problem solver with an analytical mindset who is comfortable with taking on responsibility to ensure compliance with local statutory requirements. The candidate will play a key role in providing support for all Controllership matters. The role is a key leadership position.</p><p></p><p><b>Responsibilities: </b></p><ul><li><span>Analysis/interrogation</span> of key balance sheet & P&L accounts, with preparation and posting of any associated journals</li><li>Preparation of financial statements for legal entities in accordance with US and local GAAP</li><li>Responsibility for month end processes, including the preparation & posting of journals along with preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations</li><li>Liaising and interacting with external auditors pursuant to the timely completion of statutory audits carried out on legal entities</li><li>Assistance with preparation of tax returns and associated accounting workflows, including processing of payment and balance sheet reconciliation of related accounts</li><li>Preparation of VAT returns and associated accounting workflows, including processing of payment and balance sheet reconciliation of related accounts</li><li>Support the EMEA Controller team with merger, acquisition & disposal projects and legal entity restructuring projects impacting the region</li><li>To support on process improvement projects, identifying and implementing best practice processes across the region</li><li>Assistance with Legal Entity Rationalization</li><li><b>This is Hybrid role with 2 days per week work from S&P Global Frankfurt office</b></li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>What We’re Looking For</u>: </b></p><p><b>Basic Required Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or accounting, German qualification - Bilanzbuchhalter/in or ACA / CPA / CA / ACCA or equivalent certification</li><li>Strong technical accounting skills/knowledge of German GAAP and IFRS</li><li>Ability to prepare financial statements</li><li>Relevant audit background / experience, preferably with the Big 4 audit firms</li><li>Minimum 5 years’ experience in Financial Reporting or Accounting</li><li>Good understanding of VAT and general tax accounting</li><li>Experience with financial statement reporting obligations, including an understanding of German GAAP and local requirements and internal controls</li><li>Fluency in German and English</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Additional Preferred Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills</li><li>Well organized and able to prioritize conflicting deadlines</li><li>Real team player with innate desire to contribute to change</li><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Hands-on approach</li><li>Delivers excellence with agility and rigor</li><li>A strong desire to exceed expectations</li><li>Results orientated</li><li>Real team player with innate desire to contribute to change</li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>What’s In It For </u></b><b><u>You?</u></b></p><p></p><p><u><b>Our Purpose:</b></u></p><p>Progress is not a self-starter.
