Specifically, the world of US Card Acquisitions is undergoing a major modernization effort, one that will dramatically change how our systems operate. This inevitably changes how we meet, maintain, and monitor compliance to internal and external requirements. US Card Acquisitions is the cornerstone for how customers apply for and inevitably get a decision for a new line of credit. The team has oversight for everything from the frontend UI to validating booking across downstream systems. In this position, you will contribute immediately to the team’s strategic roadmap while strengthening your well managed best practices through implementing modernization efforts. As a Principle Associate of Project Management, you will play a key role in delivering well managed programs and processes that impact Capital One’s strategy, compliance, operational, and reputational risk. Daily, you will intersect with stakeholders and customers across varying job families including Product, Technology, Legal, and Business partners. As a SME, you will leverage your expertise to influence and drive results across your scope. You may also lead or engage in critical departmental or cross-functional organizational initiatives and projects.
A qualified candidate will have:
Demonstrated that they can improve processes, deliver well managed initiatives, and scale viable solutions
Ability to effectively communicate and influence partners horizontally across different teams and vertically across different seniority levels within the organization
Strong analytical and technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to change quickly
Experience working with data and automation tools
A solid grasp of process management concepts and ability to work with Risk, Compliance, and Audit partners
Proven ability to work autonomously, using judgement to determine prioritization and the severity of potential escalations
General Responsibilities:
Consultation and representation of well managed processes, customer experience, and risk management for new Intent
Support moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing contextual direction as the domain subject matter expert (SME) for operations to effectively partner with Product, Technology, Legal/Compliance, and Segments teams.
Support the design, development, and management of project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements.
Support all aspects, operational and technical, of a domain; ensuring thorough documentation to mitigate future risk and meet regulatory requirements.
Leverage problem solving and judgment skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and in a timely manner
Exhibit outstanding relationship building and influencing skills to collaborate and effectively drive project / program efforts
Demonstrate excellent communication skills which are essential for interacting with key stakeholders at all levels and job families across the company to manage, inform, and influence outcomes
Champion new delivery models including engaging Product and Tech teams in the creation and delivery of new intent
Travel required 25% or less
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Military experience
At least 2 years of project management experience
At least 2 years of process management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree or equivalent Military experience
