Senior IT Systems and Security Engineer

Job Description

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 (Depending on experience)

Responsibilities:

• IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and communication systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability
• Security Management: Implement, monitor, and continuously improve security protocols, firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems to protect against cyber threats
• System Administration: Perform regular system updates, patches, and audits to maintain the stability, security, and efficiency of all IT systems
• Web-Based System Support: Utilize web-based systems effectively and provide support when needed, including troubleshooting and escalating usage issues to superiors
• User Support: Provide technical support and guidance to employees, troubleshooting issues and offering solutions to enhance productivity and system reliability
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT systems, security protocols, web-based systems usage, and operational procedures, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity
• Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, recommending and implementing improvements to the IT environment

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in IT technology (security, infrastructure, development)
• Firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems regular system updates, patches, and audits to maintain the stability, security
• Utilize web-based systems effectively and provide support when needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent
• Experience in IT systems management within the manufacturing or retail sector
• Experience with disaster recovery planning, business continuity strategies, and data backup solutions
• Prior experience in a leadership or senior technical role within an IT department
