Civil Engineering Intern - Airport Construction (Summer 2024)

Foth's Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a team-focused and results-oriented Civil Engineering Intern to join our Aviation Services team. This is a hands-on learning experience conducting construction observation at the Eastern Iowa Airport. Economic growth, safety, and aging infrastructure – these are all challenges faced by nearly every community today.  As a member of the Foth Infrastructure Solutions engineering team, you will help our client meet these challenges while minimizing impacts to the community and the environment. The Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids is needing renovation, upgrades and expansion of their airfield facilities, utilities, structures and service roads.  You will be a part of providing effective solutions that are cost-conscious and innovative providing practical results that will last for years to come.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform construction observation and administration for aviation related projects at the Eastern Iowa Airport with a team of engineers
• Assist with construction measurements and documentation, quantity reporting, plan and specification review, and contractor/client coordination
• Perform routine civil engineering support tasks under the direction of a licensed engineer 

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or Construction Engineering at an accredited technical college or university
• Must be able to pass airport security background check
• Clean driving history
