Estimating Internship- Heavy Civil Infrastructure Summer 2027 - PA, MD, VA

Our interns are assigned meaningful duties, which help advance the efforts of the company and give the students a broad introduction to the field of Civil Engineering.</p> <p><strong>Estimating Intern Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p><strong>Quantity Takeoffs &amp; Bid Preparation</strong></p> <ul> <li>Perform quantity takeoffs from plan sets for earthwork, concrete, drainage, and other civil work items.</li> <li>Assist in organizing and assembling bid packages for heavy civil construction projects.</li> <li>Review project specifications and drawings to identify scope of work. Assist senior estimators with assembling bid documents.</li> <li>Build familiarity with DOT standard specifications and pay item structures.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Subcontractor &amp; Vendor Coordination</strong></p> <ul> <li>Solicit and log subcontractor and supplier quotes.</li> <li>Maintain bid solicitation lists and track quote deadlines.</li> <li>Compare vendor pricing and assist in scope leveling.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Cost Estimating Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Shadow senior estimators during bid reviews and strategy meetings.</li> <li>Research historical data and production rates to support estimate development.</li> <li>Assist in analyzing production rates for equipment and labor crews.</li> <li>Participate in pre-bid site visits and job walks.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Qualifications Include:&nbsp;</u></strong><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Completion of one year in a Civil Engineering, General Engineering or Construction Management degree program</li> <li>Excellent Computer and Communication skills</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;<strong>Core Values:</strong></p> <ul> <li>
