Principal Product Manager

Alert Innovation, now powered by Walmart, is a fast-growing venture on a mission to reinvent retail through robotics. We’ve partnered with Walmart to develop our Alphabot® technology, which is currently being deployed at stores throughout North America.

We’re seeking a Product Manager to lead our multi-disciplinary development teams.   The ideal candidate has a keen eye for gaps in consumer product offerings and the innovative mindset to fill them. You’re a highly-skilled market analyst with a proven ability to strategize the full lifecycle of product production — from concept through release. You may already be a confident leader who has experience guiding cross-functional teams in the successful creation of products that improve consumer experience and grow market share.   Our work is challenging, fun, and rewarding. What you’ll work on:

• Drive the product and business-planning process across the various functional groups within the company
• Analyze customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from an ROI and build vs. buy perspective
• Assess current competitor offerings, seeking opportunities for differentiation
• Analyze product requirements and develop appropriate programs to ensure they’re successfully achieved
• Appraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plans
• Drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for products, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements development, and product launch
• In Agile environments, define feature-level success criteria and regularly validate completed work with customers to ensure alignment with expectations.
• Collaborate closely with leaders in engineering, production, marketing, and sales teams on the development, QA, and release of products and balance of resources to ensure success for the entire organization
• Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI
• Analyze market data to develop sales strategies, and define product objectives for effective marketing communications plans
• Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Alert and its features across primary market segments
• Is a market expert, which includes a deep understanding of the competition, and how customers think of and buy our product.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong experience in a dynamic product management role
• Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle
• Highly effective cross-functional team management
• Business expertise such as ROI analysis, market analysis, costing, and pricing strategies.
• Business experience to provide market leadership
• Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills
• Knowledge of the grocery and related automation market and product area – desired not required
• Technical or business degree with 10+ years of working experience in technology or industrial automation.
