Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, the Applications Developer will be part of a team that develops tools for our media technicians, project managers, and partners to accomplish their work in the most effective, stable, and transparent way.

This team is focused on low-code solutions that are developed to match our larger vision of an integrated ecosystem driving intelligent workflows at scale. The work done to develop and optimize these low-code applications complements our robust full-stack development.

Building solutions that are performant and scalable will require the successful candidate to:

• Develop and support backend services for applications used by Pixelogic’s operational groups

• Design and implement integrations with internal and external clients for the exchange of media and business, financial, and operational data
• Develop API endpoints for systems for both internal and external clients
• Design and maintain existing relational and noSQL databases.
• Identify opportunities for automation or increased performance and implement solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent experience

• 5 years of business experience designing, developing, and implementing backend services and applications
• Experience integrating with third parties; includes working with others to negotiate interfaces
• Proficiency in relational and/or non-relational databases

• Proficiency in industry standard technologies such as Web Services, JSON, and XML
• Knowledge of QuickBase API, Workato and/or Cloud (AWS) Integration is preferred
• Experience using SQL, HTML 5, Python or similar programming languages is preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of media, preferably professional film and television
• Experience working with distributed teams and vendors
• Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies and tools
