GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The High-Risk Clinic Manager under general supervision of the Director is responsible for the clinic operations and assigned components of the High-Risk Department. Responsible for day-to-day operations including planning,
implementing, monitoring, performance review, staffing, physician relations and patient satisfaction initiative, improving quality of services, overseeing, and maintaining fiscal accountability. Supervises the following job classes: Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Physical Therapist, Speech Language Pathologists, Child Development Specialists, Medical office specialist and other health care providers as needed. A multidisciplinary team approach to care is utilized.

Actively support and promote a professional practice model that encourages staff participation in the development of clinical standards that is collaborative, collegial and utilizes current trends and data in professional practice (clinical and administrative).
Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
Provide day – day operational oversight of RGV clinics
Organizes, manages, delegates licensed and unlicensed staff in the delivery of patient care in compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and procedures.
Addresses staffing needs to ensure smooth clinic throughout.
Creates the monthly schedule for staff and clinics, adjusts as needed
Monitors the schedule and intercedes proactively when there is an issue.
Monitors safety, infection control and quality to ensure that standards are met.
Supports referring physician needs to promote ease of access for those patients requiring specialized care. Support’s departmental providers to ensure that supplies, equipment, and staffing are readily available, as appropriate.
Provide secondary support to the clinic Director for other clinic sites
Reviews incoming referrals and establishes a follow up time frame
Participate in the Vermont Oxford Database for ELBW infants
Establishes evidenced based practice guidelines
Present performance data reports and discuss findings at appropriate forum.
Participate in meetings with the Department Director, Medical Directors, and staff.
Investigate, plan, develop and support opportunities or expansion of services.
Establish annual departmental goals and objectives.
Provides outreach to the community, hospitals, and pediatricians/specialists
Plan and conduct staff meetings to keep staff informed.
Involve the Director, the Medical Directors, and staff in establishing practice standards and research projects. Facilitate communication between all members of the health care team.
Manage equipment and supplies.
Assess and meet supply and equipment requirements, including managing inventory.
Ensure that regular quality and control and cleaning is performed on all equipment as appropriate. Communicate with reps for samples, equipment, and services
Establish and ensure tracking of maintenance and problem log for all equipment
Ensure appropriate in-service with staff and physicians on new equipment and supplies.
Provide training as needed to assure quality control is performed appropriately.
Develop innovative ways to utilize existing resources safely and effectively.
Integrate and promote department/service, professional practice, and hospital goals into practice.
Coaches staff in how to improve performance through educational applications.
