Senior Financial Accountant (m/f/d)

<p> </p> <p>Purpose &amp; Overall Relevance for the Organization:</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Ensuring correct and timely execution of key responsibilities in the Financial Shared Service (FSS) Center for the retained area according to the requirements of FSS policies, procedures and guidelines, also according to the Group Accounting Manual and legal requirements for the specific area of responsibility.  </li> <li>Self-directed worker for a specific service area</li> <li>Supports organizational effectiveness through the identification and communication of process improvement opportunities</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Key Responsibilities: </p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Assist/support the supervisor to be a partner with the business within the assigned area of responsibility.</li> <li>Day-to-day operations in assigned areas (e.g. month-end closing tasks/postings of assigned accounts and companies) </li> <li>Participate in projects, support the implementation of findings and sustainability of achievements.</li> <li>Deliver defined output following clear procedures / processes within own job area to support the department targets.</li> <li>Develop and provide expertise for assigned functional areas/systems and processes towards team and business partners.</li> <li>Oversee and assist with documentation for and support of year-end or interim audit</li> <li>Determine optimal working processes and controls needed for accurate reporting, and win the alignment and support of related departments such as Group Accounting and Group Taxes</li> <li>Ensure statistical reports to federal agencies is properly documented, and executed on time and quality, either through self-performance or direct support.</li> <li>Responsible for month-end closing under IFRS and local GAAP (HGB) either through self-performance or direct support, for assigned GL accounts and companies in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules so that the organization has a full and accurate statement of its financial position</li> <li>Responsible for annual financial statements of the assigned accounts and companies, taking into account the compliance with internal and external reporting requirements</li> <li>React as a specialist for ad-hoc request from business in regard of accounting treatments and support the supervisor in this regard</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Key Relationships:</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Team colleagues, Superior</li> <li>Colleagues connected via the process area in other parts of FSS</li> <li>Business Partner (internal customers like Controlling, etc.) </li> <li>Group Accounting </li> <li>Group Taxes</li> <li>Auditors (internal audit, external: tax auditors, certified accountant)</li> <li>Corporate Solutions</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Knowledge Skills and Abilities: </p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Good accounting knowledge</li> <li>Preferably advanced knowledge of German commercial code</li> <li>Experienced accountant of local gaap and IFRS</li> <li>Good knowledge in sales tax law</li> <li>Ability to accept and meet deadlines</li> <li>Good knowledge in the use of SAP FI through proven work experience</li> <li>Ability to read, write and communicate in English and German in a business setting </li> <li>Ability to pay close attention to detail, and analyse complex details and calculations</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:  </p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Education in Accounting or tax office, preferably further education as accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) or ACCA or similar professional qualification </li> <li>or equivalent University degree in Finance</li> <li>or solid knowledge of General Ledger Accounting through previous work experience</li> <li>Good knowledge in IFRS</li> <li>Good knowledge of SAP system </li> <li>Experience with MS Office</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in Accounting</li> </ul>
