Cenovus is looking for a Manager, Reliability & Discipling Engineering for the Superior, WI refinery. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technical Services, this individual will focus on operating assets, providing additional guidance as required for small capital projects, and be involved in production selection, design implementation, troubleshooting, and operations.

What you’ll do:

• Accountable for RCA bad actor management, FMEA, threat identification, action management
• Accountable for the unit vulnerability studies and unit reliability road maps and long term plan
• Accountable for Asset Care, including LOD1 practices, foundational data quality, PM program performance
• Accountable for reliability performance, failure trend analysis and life cycle management
• Steward/sponsor of reliability steering team / performance
• Accountable for addressing reliability risks through TAR, Maintenance & Defect Elimination programs
• Ensure direct reports grow their technical and soft skills to fit their role and career goals
• Performs root cause analysis for equipment/ instrument failures meeting the defined thresholds
• Develop obsolescence and long-range plans for Bad Actor equipment and develop mitigation plans
• Requests Lost Profit Opportunity from Economics & Planning for equipment failures
• Recommends continuous improvements and sparing strategies
• Owner of Refinery Engineering Standards, their review and required revisions
• Responsible for condition monitoring programs, such as IR & Slide Valves
• Provide input to optimize Preventative Maintenance & Predictive Maintenance strategies

Who you are:

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
• 8+ years of engineering experience

Preferred:

• Engineering experience in an operating refinery or chemical plant with similar responsibilities and deliverables.
• Professional Engineer
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
