A Journeyman Plumber is a skilled professional with multiple years of experience. Plumbing pros work with apprentices with minimal direct supervision, as they install various plumbing equipment and fixture components.  At Comfort Systems USA Shoffner, skilled Journeyperson can grow as far as their talents will take them. We focus on continued education and cross-training.

Your pay: Depends on experience. Annual reviews and pay increases.

Your main Tasks: 

  • Work safely no matter what.  Safety is our #1 priority. 
  • Lay out and install commercial plumbing in a wide variety of job settings. 
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles.
  • Install hangers to hold pipes in place.
  • Work at heights, from ladders, lifts, or roof. 
  • Install plumbing fixtures. 
  • Use a variety of power & hand tools. 
  • Brazing copper.
  • Complete testing to ensure proper installation.
  • Help teach Apprentices on the job site.

Experience or Certification needed: 

  • 4+ years of Commercial Plumbing experience.
  • A High School diploma or GED is required. 

You need to be able to; 

  • Keep it a Drug-free Workplace. 
  • Be punctual and reliable. 
  • Work as a team. 
  • Work in extremes of heat, cold and bad weather, indoors and outdoors. 
  • Stand and walk throughout the workday, and lift/carry up to 60 lbs. 
  • Willing to be cross trained in different trades.
  • Work efficiently in confined spaces. 
  • Work reaching above shoulders, crawling, squatting, kneeling, bending. 
  • Exercise fine motor control, with good vision and excellent hand-eye coordination.
