This role provides principal level data engineering expertise in a cloud-based environment, focused around using Snowflake and Azure technologies. This can be as a part of an agile software development and delivery team or across multiple teams. This position focuses on using data engineering tools and theory as part of a holistic end to end approach to delivering highly available solutions to users. A principal data engineer guides the exploration and adoption of new technologies, paradigms and architectures that help to continuously improve the capabilities of the team. This role includes mentoring other data engineers in technical best practices. This includes working closely with end users and other developers to design, build and deliver complete products and supporting infrastructure. Candidates should also be adept at "self-service" using the technologies that are at hand and be able to support their team with deep expertise where needed.

  • California

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of experience in data engineering
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and guiding organizations to improve and grow their data engineering capabilities and maturity

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree plus 8 years of demonstrated experience in data engineering -OR-
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 6 years of demonstrated experience in data engineering -OR- a combination equivalent education and experience
