Job Description
Dakota County Technical College seeks a Graphic Design Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. Teach one or multiple introductory or advance courses to include any or all of the following:
Graphic design software Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, graphic design print and interface page layout, web site design and coding, illustration, print processes, and general graphic design elements and principles.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement
Associate degree in graphic arts, graphic design or electronic publishing.
Occupational Experience Requirement
Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in graphic arts, graphic design or electronic publishing.
Recency Requirement
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Preferred Qualification
Higher education teaching experience with a diverse student population
Experience with learning communities or team teaching
Experience in curriculum development
Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery, including on-line instruction
Experience developing and using student-centered, active and experiential learning strategies
Experience integrating cross-cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction
Experience assessing student academic achievement of campus-wide and classroom learning outcomes
