The Tech Lead role is responsible for leading a team of software engineers/developers (front end, back end or full stack). The role provides strategic direction and leads technical execution, ensuring the successful delivery of project work. The Tech lead will also leverage deep expertise to contribute to coding activity where appropriate.

Accountabilities:

• Solution Architecture
• Architect solutions in accordance with business and client needs
• Provide expert advice on technical aspects of projects
• Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders


• Solution Quality
• Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices
• Manage code reviews and ensure adherence to codebase quality benchmarks
• Oversee testing strategies to ensure alignment to quality, functionality and integration requirements


• Continuous Improvement
• Implement improvements in processes, tools, and practices
• Ensure technical documentation relevance, accuracy and accessibility
• Optimisation of team resources - tools, infrastructure, personnel and time


• People Leadership and Development
• Set clear goals, expectations, and development plans for team members.
• Provide regular coaching, feedback, and recognition to drive engagement and performance.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain high-quality talent in alignment with organisational needs.

Capabilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Leading a team to embed significant contextual drivers and deliver outcomes for organisational impact, not just project execution.
• Technical Excellence: Deep expertise in cloud technologies, programming languages and associated testing mechanisms and protocols. Database languages and security mechanisms.
• Communication & Collaboration: Effective stakeholder engagement, education on best practices, and ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
• Change & Problem Solving: Resilient leader who manages complexity, drives transformation, challenges status quo, and makes rapid informed decisions.

Experience:

• 7+ years' experience in relevant stack (front end/back end/full stack) development
• 2+ years’ experience in people leadership
• 4+ years’ experience in web solution design
• Development of unit and end-to-end tests
• Management, deployment and scaling of cloud-based services
• Advanced LEAN qualifications advantageous
