Job Description

SIXT LAX is looking to hire a Fleet Technician is responsible for performing basic maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles in our fleet, including oil changes, tire replacement and vehicle inspections. This position is vital to rental operations to provide a quick turnaround of maintenance to increase the number of vehicles available to our customers. 

General Duties and Responsibilities 

• Performs basic mechanical repairs to include oil changes, mounting and balancing tires, Tire repair, brake and part replacements. 

• Complete Pre delivery inspections on fleet vehicles as required by management. 

• Achieves daily output goal's and maintains the minimum efficiency of 100%  

• Uses PPE everytime repairs are performed including usauge of Safety Glasses at all times while in the automotive shops.  

• Conducts daily clean-up of work area and maintains a clean work environment. 

Competencies 

• Minimum 2 years experience as an automotive technician or trade school graduate. 

• Possesses  ASE Certifications Suspension & Steering and Brakes  (A4-A5). Or able to complete within 1st year of employment. 

Effort and Working Conditions 

• 40 hour work week 

• Daily represents Sixt Rent a Car by following professional appearance standards for a technician.  

• Stand for extended periods of time while performing vehicle maintenance. 

•  Ability to lift and carry heavy objects such as automotive parts. 

• This position has exposure to chemicals such as motor oil, brake fluid and cleaners associated with mechanical vehicle repairs. 

Qualifications

About you:

• High school diploma or GED  
• Minimum 1-year experience performing administrative tasks in an office environment 
• Must be at least 21 and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record 
• Experience working with vehicle registrations, at an automotive dealership, or in the car rental industry preferred 
• Basic computer navigation skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications 
• Ability to work 40 hours per week including day and/or evening hours 
• Must be willing to wear company uniforms 
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future 
• Likely to require at least 5-10% travel, some of which may be by airplane 
• Ability to communicate in other languages is a plus.
