This position contributes to the success of Brookfield Zoo Chicago (“BZC”) by providing effective IT network, system, security, and telecommunications support for all users, supporting a wide variety of business needs, solutions, applications, and communications necessary to carry out BZC’s mission and maintain operations in all areas supporting annual and strategic goals.

This is a non-union, fulltime, salaried position, grade 11, with a hiring range of $100,898 to $112,249. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. *Implement, test, and maintain technical controls, processes, and documentation supporting all BZC compliance and information security policies and practices for network, systems, and telecommunications and applications.
2. *Configure, install, monitor, and maintain equipment related to the network such as switches, Wi-Fi access points, routers, and other devices as necessary to ensure the performance of the entire network, including appropriate data cabling.
3. *Manage Active Directory environment, including DNS, DHCP, setting up user accounts, assigning permissions, setup automation processes to streamline operations. Manage O365 infrastructure and hybrid Exchange.
4. *Perform administration and support of VoIP telephone system including Call Manager, Unified Messaging, Emergency Responder, and Call Center.
5. *Manage and monitor on-premise Storage-Area-Network and Cloud storage infrastructure, including assisting with Disaster Recovery management and testing. Maintain backup system(s) for all critical infrastructure and systems.
6. *Manage, monitor, and maintain network security related systems including but not limited to network firewalls, SMTP security gateways, endpoint anti-virus, MFA, web filtering. Assist with execution of the incident response plan, when enacted.
7. *Perform server hardware and software installations, upgrades, patches, and service packs, as necessary. Maintain and monitor IP video system including cameras, applications, and storage performance. Use best practices, tools and collaboration with peers to monitor and maintain a secure network. Provide third-tier technical support to IT support services staff and vendors, including project related network and telecommunications participation, tasks and support.
8. *Assess and recommend network architectural designs/changes in response to business or technical drivers. Actively participate in the planning, design, and implementation of server operating system configurations, network infrastructure, and related hardware. Maintain relationships with vendors, partners, and manufacturers as necessary to ensure we are getting value for BZC network and related systems.
9. Other related duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant field or eight years of equivalent related experience. High school diploma or educational equivalent (e.g., GED.) required.
• Five years relevant experience in networking, wireless, firewalls, routing, and switching.
• Proficiency with best practices related to management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
• Experience with managing Active Directory, VMWare, O365, backup/recovery, network security, network troubleshooting, and IP vid
