Worcester based with a balance of home and office working
£29,950 - £31,526 per year
35 hours per week
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accounts Assistant to join our Property Services Accounting team based in Worcester. The role sits within Property Services Compliance Finance which is part of the Affordable Housing division and encompasses both Housing and Property Services. The ideal candidate will come from a finance background and will possess excellent data analysis skills, with the ability to be able to work independently on tasks.
The role of Senior Accounts Assistant will include:
- Reviewing monthly management accounts, and ensuring income and costs are recorded accurately.
- Carrying out balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation and production of monthly management accounts.
- Supporting the Finance Manager with the preparation of the management accounts, including budgets and forecasts.
- Providing accurate and timely financial information, to support decision making and business planning.
- Communicating effectively and maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders.
- Identifying areas for improvement and shortfalls in service delivery and recommending actions to remedy this, as appropriate.
Skills and experiences:
- AAT level 3, or equivalent level of qualification is desirable.
- High level of numeracy and literacy equivalent to GCSE grade C in English and Maths
- Previous experience in a similar finance/ management accounting role.
- Analytical skills are essential.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workloads.
- Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised, with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications with proven Excel analysis skills using a variety of functions and formulas.
- Previous experience using BPC, SAP or BI Reports would be an advantage.

- Role salary is £26,982 with an additional policy allowance of £2,968 per annum (rising to £28,402 with an additional policy allowance of £3,124 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
