Job Description
The role of Research Communications Student Worker/Intern presents the opportunity to contribute to the dynamic, high impact Research & Innovation programs of the University of Nevada, Reno. Research & Innovation is currently seeking a Research Communications Student Worker/Intern to help develop news and information that promotes the research, creative and scholarly work of faculty, staff and students, plus the wide-range of programs and activities available through the Research & Innovation division. Writing is emphasized, plus the position provides the opportunity to develop other aspects of communication such as social media, photography and graphic design. The Research Communications Student Worker/Intern will interact with members of the Research & Innovation team, University faculty and researchers, and representatives of business and industry.
Responsibilities
Development of stories, news releases, web content, and social media
Performing preliminary research, conducting interviews (in-person and virtually), writing, and editing
Coordinate other aspects of multimedia communication such as photos, graphics, or videos
Assists with digital platforms such as news release distribution services and content management systems
Other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
Candidate must be able to work during Summer 2025
Preferred Qualifications
Candidate has strong writing skills
Candidate has familiarity with Microsoft Office, photo editing, and design software
Candidate has knowledge of writing/style guides such as the AP Stylebook
Schedule
