About the role

Meta is seeking a Manager, Fulfillment Planning - Racks, Planning & Capacity Engineering to join the Infrastructure Supply Chain and Engineering (ISCE) Planning team to focus on planning optimization for all of Meta’s infrastructure (Servers, Data Centers, Network) supply chain. This role will focus on creating and optimizing supply chain plans at variance altitudes to balance capacity, flexibility, supply capability, and cost, from base components to finished goods, in an environment of continual product introduction, directly managing billions of investment annually. We will do this primarily by building software and mathematical optimization models, not manual planning. The team is uniquely positioned to develop and optimize these capacity plans and scalably manage exceptions at the most strategic levels with company level impact.

This role focuses on leading, coaching and growing a team of ISCE Planning & Capacity Engineers. It is very cross-functional and provides an opportunity to work with a variety of engineering and business teams to power the rapid growth of Meta’s products. This role will help to ensure optimal deployment and operation of our infrastructure from both a cost and technology perspective, with millions of servers, gigawatts of data center capacity, and cutting edge technology including advanced AI.

  • Build and maintain a high performing, world class team: Hire the best talent. Own career development and health of the team to ensure continued growth in capability over time
  • Assess team performance on an ongoing basis: address under-performance, recognize and promote performance
  • Maximize the conditions for the team's success: ensure clarity in team vision, priorities, roadmap and key business context. Develop, maintain, and if needed, fix relationships with cross functional partners across technical and business functions
  • Effectively navigate complex tradeoffs and relationships to balance solving for team, cross-functional partner / stakeholders, and Meta company level priorities. Balance the need to “keep things running” with longer-term, high-impact projects
  • Partner across Infra - platform teams, server hardware engineering, network engineering, data center engineering, operations, capacity planning, networking planning, data center planning, energy - to find the most optimal ways to build and scale our Infrastructure
  • Partner with Finance to balance cost efficiency with technical, product and supply chain considerations
  • Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals. Ensure the team is defining, measuring and performing against pertinent metrics
  • Drive technical discussions: influence technical design and process in partnership with team, review key team outputs. Take on some technical IC work and have strategic influence technically
  • Understand end-to-end planning processes, methodologies and data, and own delivery of an executable and optimized Supply Chain execution plan
  • Coach the team to identify capacity and supply chain issues proactively, and build mathematical models to drive supply flexibility and optionality strategy to best balance delivery of required capacity, cost, and risk
  • Partner with leadership to influence and drive organization design and broader prioritization
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of experience in supply chain management - planning, manufacturing, operations, inventory, etc
  • 5+ years of experience in performance or software engineering and/or optimization pertinent data science
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing models and optimization algorithms
  • 4+ years of experience in coding/scripting languages such as Python, R, Java, C, C++, PHP
  • 3+ years of experience with recruiting, developing, and leading technical teams
  • Experience working with distributed systems at scale
  • Experience in supply chain planning optimization
  • Experience in infrastructure operations and technical infrastructure knowledge
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing ambiguity, proven intellectual curiosity
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Supply Chain Analytics or other technical field
  • Track record of success in planning for a complex supply chain environment
  • Experience transforming business systems, models, and achieving resul
