What You'll Do
Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is looking for an application engineer to join our application engineering (AE) team in San Diego, CA. The application engineer will be responsible for technical support, primarily handling technical issues from customers and partners, joint validations efforts, self-qualifications as well as supporting local customer engineering teams. Key emphasis will be on troubleshooting urgent problems, the detection of potential issues during the early stage of a product and the coordination with internal R&D teams. This position will get the candidate in-depth, hands-on experience with Samsung memory products including signal integrity (SI) and timing analysis measurements
- Support key customers through memory validation, issues troubleshooting, diagnose and root cause of system memory failures.
- Evaluate and validate various memory features on next generation processors.
- Proactively create experiments and tooling to detect and diagnose memory health issues.
- Perform DRAM SI/PI and timing analysis measurements.
- Develop and publish updates on resolutions and communicate findings internally.
- Drive necessary discussions with external and internal teams on test specification and methodologies to improve test quality continuously..

What You Bring
- Bachelors in Electrical/Computer Engineering preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in memory field.
- Solid experience with DRAM memory products.
- Familiar with Unix/Linux Operating System and scripting languages.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment including digital multi meter, oscilloscope, power supply, logic analyzer, etc.
- Background in Signal Integrity/Power Integrity (SI/PI) and timing measurements.
- Expertise in lab setup and maintenance, as well as precision PCB/component rework.
- Experience with test automation and data analysis.
- Knowledge in changing system configurations and measuring change impact.
- Strong communication skills.
- Leadership skills for driving test plans and debug activities.
