Non-Certified Engineer

In a safe and efficient manner, operates and maintains boilers, compressors, refrigeration equipment, generators, air-conditioning facilities and all appurtenant equipment driven by steam, air, diesel, gas, water or any other power-developing energy. Patrols, inspects and maintains all mechanical, HVAC, electrical, piping and plumbing systems and equipment to the end that the most economical and efficient results may be obtained.  May effect repairs on toilet facilities, registers, radiators, lights, fixtures, minor repairs on furniture and floors, provided that while standing a watch on a high-pressure boiler installation, they are not required to violate any State, County or City Ordinances, Codes or Laws. 
Pay: $44.36 per hourThe pay listed is the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Essential Functions:

• Repairs on toilet facilities including soap dispensers.
• Clearing drains by means of plunger and handheld auger.
• Perform general labor, such as carrying, stacking, and sorting of materials used in and around the job site, as well as debris removal.
• Using Employer supplied or personal vehicle, travel for parts and supplies.
• Repairs on registers and radiators.
• Minor repairs on furniture and floors.
• Maintaining and/or replacing door hardware.
• Repair of floor maintenance equipment and venetian blinds.
• Maintenance painting in equipment rooms, cooling towers and other touch up in building facilities.
• General cleaning in mechanical spaces and perimeter induction units.
• Clean up job site and equipment by means of vacuum, mop, broom, floor scrubber, waxer, steam cleaner, high pressure spray cleaner, as well as other types of cleaning devices or equipment.
• Cleaning and painting of non-operating mechanical equipment.
• Miscellaneous handyman work requiring the use of hand tools.
• Cleaning roof drains, air vents, registers and radiators.
• Replacing lamps and cleaning light fixtures.
• Maintenance of toilet facilities.
• Replacing ceiling tiles.
• Minor repairs of furniture and floors.
• Replacing air filters.
• Cleaning of engineering shop areas.
• Replacing fire extinguishers.
• Hanging objects requiring the use of power tools.

Qualifications:

• Must be over 18 years old
• Five (5) years of experience
• EPA 608 Universal
• Fire Pump Type L Certification
