General Notes
This position will end effective one year from the start date, with the possibility of one year renewal based upon performance review, progress toward research goals, and continuation of funding. This position will not be extended beyond two years.
Purpose
The person hired into this position will provide general support for NIH-funded research projects and will provide general lab management support.
Responsibilities
Perform research supporting projects related to ribosome assembly and quality control in yeast.
Provide lab management including ordering supplies and tracking orders.
Required Qualifications
Masters degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a closely related field. Experience with yeast molecular genetics, NGS library prep, NGS data analysis and immunoprecipitation. Strong skills in nucleic acid analysis. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to keep detailed notes of experimental procedures. Able to follow detailed procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years of experience in a molecular biology or biochemistry lab. Familiarity with DNA and RNA purification and analysis.
Salary Range
$42,000 + depending on qualifications
