Job Summary:

The Manager, Internal Communications, is responsible for the development and implementation of integrated communication strategies for enterprise clients and corporate initiatives. This role will provide consultative and/or direct communications support to internal clients, ensuring timely, consistent communications and messaging to colleagues across the organization using multiple communication channels including but not limited to email, intranet, video, webinars and meetings. This role will be expected to develop comprehensive communications, project plans and effectively manage those deliverables. Additionally, this role consistently improves communications effectiveness by employing a sophisticated use of data and analytics for internal client projects, and by staying informed on functional best practice and innovation. The role reports to the Managing Director, Internal Communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan and execute internal communications strategies that drive employee awareness, engagement and understanding. 

  • Support a variety of internal and project-based communications, support leadership initiatives, and create ongoing dialogue with key internal audiences.

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of internal communications and associated activities including day-to-day aspects of content creation, editing, project management and governance, ensuring content remains user-friendly, informative, relevant, in compliance with corporate communication standards.

  • Work closely with key corporate cross-functional partners to assist in defining overall communications needs, initiatives and activities; Advise on channel selection and frequency for various internal communications channels.

  • Ensure consistency in messaging, visual identity and tone across all communication channels.

  • Write communications, edit, and obtain all necessary approvals for internal client messaging/projects.

  • Project manage and drive cross-functional collaboration with cross-functional teams, with internal stakeholders to develop compelling content. Ensure clear activation plans, seamless execution, and on time deliverables.

  • Proofread/view communications, manage approval process and editing to ensure appropriate leaders and teams are in alignment with the plan, deployment schedule and all written and visual content.

  • Create and format weekly newsletter(s) for corporate communications.

  • Track metrics to measure the effectiveness of communications and channels; Leverage technology to help operationalize our communications across all channels.

  • Support the development and management of the intranet by creating engaging content, assets and platform features to promote key internal messaging and resources.

  • Become a subject matter expert of intranet platform. Provide training to department admins and offer best practices for design.

  • Track and analyze intranet data to evaluate engagement, written and visual content, timing of information, feature effectiveness and employee understanding.

  • Conduct regular intranet audits to ensure accuracy, relevancy and consistency. 

  • Maintain, develop, and load content to intranet in alignment with the organization’s brand guidelines.

  • Maintain content management calendar daily and adjust as needed to support the company/department needs.

  • Monitor and manage several corporate mailboxes.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging communication tools, and trends.
