The Systems Engineer/Junior Developer supports the development team in all aspects of the development process – design, development, and testing. Collaborating with various departments to identify needs and opportunities, the Systems Engineer/ Junior Developer assists with creating solutions for improved data management and delivery.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Captures, understands, translates, and documents customer requirements. 
  • Defines system and product requirements; and generates mechanical, electrical, and software performance and reliability specifications and requirements.
  • Creates and maintains programmatic and technical documentation to insure efficient planning and execution.
  • Manages and documents system configurations and oversees all transitions into production.
  • Designs and test LiveOak Fiber architecture and requirements. 
  • Participate in all program milestones including studies, design reviews, software and hardware-level test, and operations. 
  • Performs troubleshooting and remediation, ensures successful project implementation, and performs post project end user support.
  • Modifies and enhances existing software and web solutions.
  • Completion of development and enhancement tasks within expected time, quality, and completion metrics.
  • Participates in scoping, design, and pricing exercises as part of the development team.
  • Conducts testing exercises to ensure the completed work meets requirements and is in accordance with the agreed design.
  • Manages and documents system configurations and oversees all transitions into production.
  • Performs troubleshooting and remediation, ensures successful project implementation, and performs post project end user support. 
  • Monitors utilization of new developments to ensure adequate performance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must have basic understanding of Object-Oriented programming including .NET fundamentals and C#
  • Excellent critical thinking skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions
  • Knowledge of the systems analysis process and determining how systems should work 
  • Familiarity with project management tools

Basic Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s or technical degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field 
  • 2 to 5 years' relevant experience
  • Experience with simulation and programming tools (ex. Matlab/Simulink, C++, Python)
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

  • UI/UX Design Skills
  • Frontend development
  • JavaScript / HTML / CSS
  • Angular / TS
  • Bootstrap
  • Good Object-Oriented skills
  • Good knowledge of REST API/JSON
  • Basic Data Structure knowledge and SQL skills 
  • Ability to code, test, and maintain software and web-based applications to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly, progress daily and report any issues when needed.
  • Ability to solve the problems at hand while balancing quality and time to completion
  • Ability to perform requirements identification, analysis, documentation, and tracking
  • Ability to participate in analyzing business needs, and identifying user stories and technical tasks to achieve various agile objectives and iterative development schedules
  • Ability to use statistical analysis methods and tools

Compensation

  • $75,000 - $95,000 per year
