Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer to be based in Arlington, VA.
This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Create electrical engineering designs and contract documents under the supervision of an experienced professional engineer.
- Design new and modifications to existing medium and low voltage electrical power distribution systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities.
- Design and document normal, standby, and emergency power distribution systems.
- Work on varying project types and sizes including laboratories, educational facilities, office spaces, mission critical facilities, and cultural facilities.
- Complete electrical design calculations including system load analysis, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, coordination studies, voltage drop calculations, and lighting calculations.
- Collect (Complete field surveys) and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Perform construction administration tasks including shop drawing review, site observations, and RFI responses.
- Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Use Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP, and AGI32 software to complete designs.
- Coordinate design solutions with other design professionals.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
- Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP, and AGI32.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Arlington, VA. The selected candidate must be available to work in Arlington, VA on a scheduled basis.
