Job Summary:

 

The Senior Consultant takes the lead with Vendor Management Office (VMO) accountabilities within the Expense Financial Planning & Analysis Team. The Senior consultant partners with business owners as well as Allstate’s procurement teams to engage of third-party services, maximize strategic value from the organization’s vendor partners and provide transparency throughout the organization including to various leadership committees. In addition to maximizing value, the ideal candidate will consult to control the total cost of ownership and optimize Allstate Investments’ vendor contracts, monitor and help manage risks and vendor performance, ensure that invoice payments are in line with contract terms, and play a key role in developing the forecast and plan for vendor expenses. The senior consultant will also have a transformative mindset to enhance current VMO procedures and processes.

 

This position is a permanent remote home-based worker. Your home office does not need to be near an Allstate office, but it does need to be in the United States. This position is eligible for a monthly connectivity reimbursement to offset the costs of internet and phone expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Contract Management:

 

• Own core vendor management guidelines and build relationships with vendors
• Consult with business partners to optimize vendor spend and manage expenses
• Ensure new and renewal contracts are completed in partnership with business owners and Allstate’s procurement organization
• Centralized control over contracts and oversight of vendor management database 
• Ensure compliance with Allstate’s risk management framework for third-party suppliers
• Work to consolidate existing vendor contracts to minimize total number of vendor contracts and create efficiencies
• Core vendor management reporting and governance
• Govern the vendor on-boarding/off-boarding process

 

Risk Management:

 

• Partner with vendors, business owners, and risk management teams to evaluate data and information security, financial viability and other key vendor risks
• Partner with vendors to remediate findings and consult with business owners around solutioning for potential ongoing risks.

 

Expense Reporting, Planning & Invoicing:

 

• Provides transparent and efficient reporting into vendor spend
• Key role in developing vendor plan in line with contract terms and expectations for the future
• Ensure that invoice payments are in line with contract terms

 

Governance and Leadership Committee Updates:

 

• Main vendor point of contact for the Investments organization and leadership committees
• Own reporting on new vendors, vendor spend, contract updates and modifications, risk management and performance measurement

 

Vendor Optimization:

 

• Determine what capabilities are being leveraged or could be leveraged
• Partner with the business (internal) to maximize product use
• Recommend project initiatives when needed to facilitate adoption of use

 

Market Insights:

 

• Conduct Market Analysis
• Obtain economic analysis from Sourcing & Procurement Solutions (SPS) and evaluate
• Become familiar with available vendor
