The Nurse Manager (Facility Based Crisis/Behavioral Health Urgent Care) provides clinical supervision to all staff, clinical and non-clinical; uses state guidelines to assure quality of service and consumer rights. The Nurse Manager (RN) collaborates with the Director to ensure the management of the program on a 24-hour basis. The Nurse Manager (RN) will collaborate with the Director to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operations of the nursing department at the Detox/Facility Based Crisis Center and Urgent Care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility. The Nurse Manager (RN) will provide clinical leadership for the nursing unit in order to assure high quality standards are maintained. Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include: AA, BS, MSN preferred. Experience in management and working with behavioral health population preferred.

RHA Behavioral Health Services is looking for a dedicated Nurse Manager (RN) to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team at our Neil Dobbins Center Facility-Based Crisis Center and Behavioral Health Urgent Care programs. Successful candidates will focus on nursing functions and client care at a Facility-Based Crisis Center including assessment, care and treatment of clients at the facility; must adhere to standards of care as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and RHA. Neil Dobbins Center and Behavioral Health Urgent Care are programs that serve individuals experiencing mental health and substance use crises.

Salary Range: starting at $85,000/annual (range varies depending on experience)

$5,000 sign on Bonus

Job Responsibilities

  • Participates in the recruitment and selection of appropriate skill levels and numbers of nursing service personnel.
  • Provides clinical oversight to all clinical and non-clinical staff on a daily basis.
  • Conduct/arrange adequate training of all full-time and part-time employees in positions to meet effective program needs and to maintain employee competency
  • Manages the facility within allocated budgetary parameters.
  • Responsible for the effective management of the facilities services on a daily basis, including planning, organizing, and directing all functions and assigned activities; establishment of goals and objectives, standards of performance and care; development of clinical policy and procedure; provision of direct clinical services; and evaluation of clinical staff, systems and improvement processes. Ensure that facility is staffed appropriately
  • Develops the schedule for the nursing staff, updates it at appropriate intervals and submits it to the Director Substance Abuse Treatment for approval. 
  • Provides professional nursing care including assessment, care and treatment of clients at the facility; must adhere to standards of care as defined by the Nurse Practice Act, RHA, and accrediting bodies

Supervisory Requirements:

  • Directly more than 2 employees.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Has reliable personal transportation and is accessible by telephone.


Required Education/Experience/Certifications/Licenses

  • RN with license to practice in North Carolina
  • Five years experience working with Behavioral Health Clients preferred but not required.
  • MSN preferred.


Essential Qualifications/Skills

  • Working knowledge of the principles and techniques in the counseling of each client and/or effective delivery of community-based services.  Knowledge of the dynamics of the disease of chemical dependency and its treatment.  Knowledge of resour
