The Role

As the Tech Lead of Kintsugi's Software Engineering team, you will play an essential role in advancing access to mental health care through the implementation of state-of-the-art machine learning models and the development of a robust and regulated back-end infrastructure. Your work will directly enhance our innovative voice biomarker software, leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance mental wellness support for countless individuals. In this role, you will design and deploy cloud-native REST APIs, ensure the seamless roll-out of new ML models, architect integrations with external partners, and lead with a security-first approach to all aspects of software development. 

 

Kintsugi offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work. The expected base salary for this position will range from $180K-$215K + Equity. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.

 

Responsibilities

• Lead the feature development for our web backend including:
• Developing new API endpoints and microservices for ML models, integrations with new partners, and more.
• Performing database networking (CRUD operations).
• Implementing authentication via credentials (Username / Password, API Keys, Tokens, OAuth, etc.).
• Ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and healthcare-specific frameworks (preventing SQL injection, protecting PII/PHI, conducting penetration testing, isolating critical infrastructure and access, etc.).
• Customizing the tenant-specific configuration of developer documentation and user consoles. 
• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to define technical roadmaps, groom feature requests, and plan bi-weekly sprints. 
• Provide technical mentorship to empower junior engineers to grow their skills while providing them with new software development and system design challenges to overcome.

Minimum qualifications:

 

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent quantitative fields with 5+ years developing production-quality applications and 3+ years developing with Python.
• Technical leadership experience with 2+ years leading other developers, making key architecture decisions, and executing the technical roadmap developed in collaboration with Product, Design, and/or R&D teams.
• Experience deploying one or more production applications in a cloud environment such as GCP or AWS.
• Experience developing scalable REST APIs communicating with compute-intensive applications backed by relational databases.
• Extensive experience with one statically typed and one dynamically typed programming language.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the deployment lifecycle of web applications (version control, building, testing, containerization, environment configuration).
• Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
