As a Plant Engineer, you will..
- Report directly to the site manager, working closely with both the Operations and Maintenance teams.
- Demonstrate your commitment to a safe workplace; specifics include MOC/PSSR process, contractor selection and oversight, and participation in safety reviews.
- Work with the site and business colleagues to develop scope for new capability or capacity projects while steering projects from concept to completion working within Care Chemicals and with third-party engineering resources as necessary.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting skills to the Operations and Maintenance teams, leading and participating in root cause analysis and developing corrective action plans and strategies to reduce equipment downtime and unplanned losses.
- Champion a continuous improvement mindset and actively seek opportunities to reduce costs, eliminate waste, and increase site capacity.
- Successfully engage across the organization and the larger BASF network, seeking out best practices and implementation.
- Participate in Care Chemical Vision teams (Continuous Improvement, Digitalization, Safety, etc).
If you have...
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Chemistry (preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering) coupled with preferably a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Technical understanding of common chemical plant unit operations and utility systems and sound problem solving skills
- The ability to wear both the “production engineer” and “project engineer hats” as necessary.
- Experience in project management including scope development, contractor management, scheduling and/or cost estimation.
