Senior Architect, Software

Experienced, confident high level Senior Architect, Software that can support Nightingale College software development team with releases, web deployments, process automation, and AWS administration to create a better development experience within the Software team.  Create the solution to ensure reliable releases of our custom software applications.  This candidate will have the ability to be the team lead by creating all processes, AWS configurations, security settings, and automated procedures to better release software with proper security. This position will be the only architect position which will necessitate an experienced person that has created from scratch and worked as a lone wolf.  

• Work with the development team to meet critical delivery deadlines 

• Create different automations processes to provide the functionality for releases, emergency releases, rollbacks, etc 

• Ability to shift focus quickly when necessary for emergency releases 

• Build and deploy code, using GoLang when needed to augment existing projects or take on back-end projects 

• Lead the architecture for the development team for all development needs by creating the base-line architecture for all software development and alter existing environments to meet new standards 

• You must be able to document existing processes and procedures and newly created processes and procedures 

• Have a security mindset to protect our custom software applications 

• Extensive experience administering AWS and most of its functions (EC2, S3, IAM, etc) 

• GitHub expertise 

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field is required 

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously 

• Real-time experience with Docker 

• Kubernetes expertise 

• 5+ years experience 

• Senior level real-world experience with GoLang 

• Previous AWS administration experience 

• An innate ability to combine soft-skills and verbal skills to communicate in a poetic way 

• Previous remote work experience 

• GitHub and GitHub Actions experience
