We are seeking Mid- and Senior-level Cybersecurity Systems Engineers to join our team. These roles support the engineering, testing, production, and installation of secure U.S. Navy satellite and communications systems, contributing directly to mission-critical defense capabilities.
Overview
The Cybersecurity Systems Engineer supports the development, procurement, integration, testing, fielding, and sustainment of secure communications and GPS-based systems across the Naval enterprise. This role works closely with government engineering, test, and system support teams to ensure systems meet cybersecurity, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
The Mid- and Senior-level Cybersecurity Systems Engineers will:
Assist with the development, procurement, testing, integration, fielding, and sustainment of communications and GPS-based systems across Naval platforms.
Support engineering, test bed, and system support teams throughout system deployment and operations.
Plan, execute, and maintain Certification and Accreditation (C&A) activities, including documentation development, security testing, and approval processes to obtain and sustain Authority to Operate (ATO).
Execute and maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements in coordination with Security Control Assessors (SCAs) and Authorizing Officials (AOs).
Maintain cybersecurity documentation and artifacts in eMASS in accordance with DoD 8500 series and NIST SP 800 series requirements.
Support NSA certification processes, as required
Administer, configure, and monitor Windows and Linux-based workstations and servers supporting cybersecurity architectures, including clustered compute and data nodes.
Maintain system auditing and monitoring capabilities in a fully operational state.
Install and maintain software, monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and restore systems to proper operation.
Perform cybersecurity testing and validation using ACAS, DISA STIGs, SCAP tools, and RMF validation methodologies.
Support vulnerability assessment, remediation, and compliance activities.
Ensure compliance with SPIDER, DITPR-DON, and DADMS processes
Update, modify, and maintain source code, scripts, and system configurations to implement required cybersecurity features and enhancements.
Analyze cybersecurity and system performance data related to incidents.
Prepare clear, concise written reports with recommendations to improve system operations and prevent future events

QualificationsExperience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience supporting Navy or DoD programs performing cybersecurity functions related to satellite, communications, and/or positioning systems.
Experience supporting U.S. Navy or DoD communications and computing architectures, including associated technical and security documentation.
Hands-on experience in Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity within DoD environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting NSA certification processes
Prior experience in U.S. Navy or joint DoD operational environments
Experience supporting clustered systems or high-availability architectures
Technical Skills:
Strong working knowledge of:
DoD 8500 series and NIST SP 800 series
Risk Management Framework (RMF)
ACAS, SCAP tools, DISA STIGs
eMASS and RMF validation testing
SPIDER, DITPR-DON, and DADMS
Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity administration, testing, and operations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to produce written technical analyses.
