PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Assistant Retail Store Manager will assist with all activities required to achieve department goals, including sales objectives, customer service, mentoring and retention of retail sales staff, loss prevention, inventory, and merchandise promotions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

-Assist with Gift Shop Management:
    Responsible for the daily operations of all retail locations including opening and closing responsibilities
   Accountable for the execution of all visual merchandising directives; organizing products in a visually pleasing and effective manner while maintaining cleanliness and safety of all areas
   Supervise sales activities, store inventory, promotions, markdowns, ballpark product transfers and replenishment
   Perform all duties of the Retail Sales Associate
-Assist with Associate Management:
   Assist in training associates on all company and department procedures including techniques that promote excellent customer service and work habits
   Empower, mentor, and help in evaluation of retail associates to ensure customers are assisted quickly and in a friendly manner while also meeting department objectives
   Partner with store manager to build an effective team environment
-Inventory Control:
   Follow department procedures to accurately and efficiently receive and inspect all new merchandise; report to store manager any discrepancies in a timely manner
   Accountable for the execution of storage directives; organizing products and maintaining cleanliness and safety of all areas
   Accountable for distribution of inventory to proper locations and replenishment of product as needed to meet or exceed department objectives
   Assist with overseeing other associates performing these tasks to ensure procedures are followed
   Assist in performing regular inventory audits
-Other Duties:
   Assist store manager in evaluating department operations as needed; offer helpful insight, suggestions to continually improve the business for current and future needs
   Assist field operations as needed with tarp pulls
   Represent department and Bisons at outside events like career/intern expos and community outreach events
   Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Skills required: 
-Creative, energetic and proactive approach to work 
-Ability to anticipate/adapt and make recommendations based upon the needs of the organization
-Creative marketing and special events minded individual
-Highly organized, detail oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
-Strong interpersonal skills; written and verbal and able to remain calm in difficult situations
-Ability to work well independently and as a team member
-Capable of following job guidelines and supervisors’ instructions
-Basic math skills; ability to accurately handle money and count change

Experience required: 
-2+ years in a hospitality/sports environment and/or clothing retail experience
