POSITION TITLE: Housekeeping Shift Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper
SUPERVISES: Housekeeping Quality Assurance, Room Attendant, Houseperson, Housekeeping Clerk, Senior Housekeeping Clerk
JOB SUMMARY:
Supervise, direct, assist and monitor the job performance of all housekeeping staff to ensure the completion of Housekeeping tasks at a level established by Harrah’s management.
JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Endorse the business objectives, ethics and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values
- Supervise, direct, assist and monitor the performance of all housekeeping staff to ensure the completion of housekeeping tasks
- Serve as a leader for employees while fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation and open communication
- Coach and develop employees using a consistent, approachable demeanor while clearly articulating expectations
- Provide direction and support for all staff members to achieve department goals and objectives
- Ensure all Housekeeping staff is well trained with an emphasis on detail to provide service levels consistent with the accepted concept for the Hotel
- Assign supervisory inspectors, room attendants, and house-persons to daily tasks while maintaining quality cleanliness standards set forth by the department
- Follow inventory and purchasing procedures in order to achieve budgeted expenses
- Maintain key control within the department
- Accountable for the follow-up with department walk-through, special cleaning projects and maintaining of department cleanliness and training standards
- Follow and ensure security and safety guidelines are in place
- Maintain and monitor lost and found system
- Interface with Front Desk personnel to ensure maximum guest satisfaction
- Follow up and reconcile all guest concerns or complaints relating to their stay at Harrah’s Cherokee
- Coordinate the day to day activities of Room Attendants and Housepersons to ensure the efficient operation of the department
- Complete room inspections daily
- Perform all duties of Room Attendants and Housepersons as needed
- Responsible for, or actively participates in, the initiation of personnel actions including but not limited to: interviews, training, candidate selection, terminations, performance reviews, promotions, transfers and disciplinary actions
- Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedure in an ethical manner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required
- College degree from an accredited institution preferred
- Three years experience in hospitality industry preferred
- Two years supervisory experience preferred
- Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:
- Strong organizational, communication and supervisory skills required
- Excellent customer service and public relations skills required
- Experience working with BioHazards and knowledge in dealing with Blood-borne Pathogens
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to operate an I-Touch handheld device
- Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Self-starter; must work without close supervision
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
