JOB OVERVIEW:
The Parts Specialist is responsible for fulfilling parts orders, managing parts inventory and providing excellent customer service and technical expertise to all walk in and telephone customers. This position requires an acute attention to detail, an obsession with resolving issues the same day, as well as the ability to establish positive relations with vendors, customers, Sales/Service/Product Representatives and other related TMH Departments. Excellent customer service is the driving force for this position, providing the same level of service to all internal and external customers. You must live within commuting distance to Livermore to qualify for this position.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide superior customer service to all internal, walk-in and telephone customers.
- Provide quick response in answering all phone and email inquiries.
- Use all resources necessary to ensure the customer needs are met as quickly as possible.
- Process parts orders for customers as well as Road and Shop Technicians.
- Provide parts information to Service Advisors to ensure accurate and timely quotes (within 24 hrs) as requested, providing status until closed.
- Expedite and advise customers and TMH colleagues on the status of all backordered items.
- Process returns from customers and vendors (RTV’s)
- Return parts to stock and bin location as needed.
- Works with and communicates regularly with fellow Branch team members to help each other provide an outstanding experience for the customer.
- Communicate with your Manager regularly regarding issues, suggestions and any assistance or training you may need.
Requirements
Required Qualification & Skills:
- High School diploma
- 3-5 years of experience in customer service, parts, inventory or other customer facing role
- Professional manner in person and on the phone with customers
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; willingness to communicate transparently even when it’s hard
- Detail oriented with strong organization, time management and proven math skills
- Ability to multi-task and shift priorities in a changing environment
- Ability to work under pressure and use good business judgment
- Ability to work independently and with others to problem solve and drive continuous improvement
- Personally accountable and committed to follow-through to ensure customer satisfaction
- Willing to train others and committed to ongoing personal development
- Ability to use a variety of information technologies is essential, including e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desired Qualifications & Skills:
- 2+ years of experience working in a material handling / industrial environment with parts sales
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Approximately 100% is spent seated at a desk, working on the computer
- Approximately 70% will be interacting with email and the internet
- Approximately 30% will be using a computer as your video and phone
