About the role

Description

The Pre-Owned Acquisition Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our dealership’s pre-owned vehicle operations. This includes inventory management, pricing, reconditioning, sales, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the automotive industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in sales and management.


Responsibilities

Inventory Management:

  • Oversees the acquisition, pricing, and disposition of pre-owned vehicles.
  • Maintains optimal inventory levels to meet sales goals and customer demand.
  • Monitors vehicle turn rates and adjusts inventory strategies as needed.

Sales Team Leadership:

  • Recruits, hires, trains, and develops a high-performing sales team.
  • Sets and monitors sales goals and provides coaching and support to team members.
  • Encourages a positive and customer-centric sales culture.

Sales Process:

  • Ensures efficient and effective sales processes, including vehicle appraisals, pricing, and negotiations.
  • Monitors sales performance metrics and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Implements sales strategies to drive revenue and market share.

Reconditioning:

  • Oversees the reconditioning process to ensure vehicles meet dealership standards.
  • Works with the service department to schedule and prioritize reconditioning work.
  • Monitors reconditioning costs and identifies opportunities for cost savings.

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the entire sales process.
  • Handles customer complaints and resolves issues promptly and professionally.
  • Builds strong relationships with customers to foster repeat business and referrals.

Financial Performance:

  • Monitors and analyzes financial performance metrics, including gross profit, expense control, and inventory turnover.
  • Develops and implements strategies to improve financial performance.

Compliance:

  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including emissions, safety, and consumer protection laws.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.  
  • Proven track record of success in automotive sales management.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of automotive industry trends and best practices.
  • Proficiency in dealership management software.
  • Valid driver’s license.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and reach.
