About the role
<b>About the Team </b><span>The Infrastructure team at Spendesk builds the tools, systems, and internal products that empower every engineering team to move faster and more safely. We are transforming traditional infrastructure into a </span><b>developer-facing platform </b><span>focused on </span><b>enablement, automation, and scalability</b><span>. </span><span>We own CI/CD platform (ArgoCD and Github Actions), secrets management, observability tooling, infrastructure provisioning, and developer workflows. Our work is foundational to the productivity and reliability of the entire product organization. </span>
<h3>About The Role</h3>
<ul>
<li>As a <b>Senior Platform Engineer</b>, youʼll help define and deliver the next generation of internal tooling and infrastructure at Spendesk. Youʼll be hands-on in designing scalable systems, collaborating with engineering peers, and productizing shared services used by dozens of engineers across the company. </li></ul>
<h3>What Youʼll Do</h3>
<ul>
<li>As a <b>Senior Platform Engineer at Spendesk</b>, youʼll help shape the foundation that every engineering team builds on. Youʼll work hands-on with <b>Kubernetes, Go, and AWS </b>to create scalable, reliable, and developer-friendly systems that power our internal platform. </li><li>Hereʼs how youʼll make an impact: </li><li><b>Design, build, and maintain core infrastructure services </b>including provisioning workflows, service orchestration, and deployment automation using Kubernetes, Go, and cloud-native tools </li><li><b>Own and evolve our CI/CD platform</b>, improving performance, reliability, and usability, with a focus on fast feedback, secure secrets handling, and smooth rollback support </li><li><b>Develop service scaffolding and templates </b>that allow product teams to spin up production-ready services in minutes with consistent tooling, observability, and security baked in </li><li><b>Lead the technical rollout of our Service Orchestrator</b>, a new internal product aimed at simplifying infrastructure provisioning across squads </li><li><b>Improve our observability tooling and incident response workflows</b>, building custom dashboards and refining alerting systems to reduce noise and improve reliability </li><li><b>Partner closely with product engineers and EMs </b>to identify recurring friction in development workflows and turn those into reusable, documented platform solutions </li><li><b>Take technical ownership of key platform domains</b>, such as secrets management, infrastructure as code, monitoring pipelines, or cost visibility tooling </li><li><b>Champion internal adoption </b>of platform capabilities by writing excellent documentation, creating onboarding guides, and supporting team usage through async support and office hours </li><li><b>Participate in our on-call rotation</b>, using that insight to continuously reduce toil through automation, self-healing systems, and smarter alert routing </li></ul>
<h3>Who you are</h3>
<ul>
<li>A <b>strong individual contributor with a platform mindset</b>—someone who enjoys solving developer pain with elegant, scalable systems and takes pride in enabling others to move faster. </li><li>Youʼre a fit for this role if you have: </li><li><b>7+ years of engineering experience</b>, with a strong track record in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform roles supporting multiple engineering teams </li><li><b>Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments</b>, including designing and debugging containerized services at scale </li><li><b>Fluency in Go (Golang) OR Typescript, </b>youʼve built tooling, services, or operators that run reliably in production </li><li><b>Proficiency with AWS </b>and a solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or a similar tool </li><li><b>Experience building internal tooling or platforms </b>used across multiple teams —bonus if youʼve owned adoption, documentation, or support </li><li>A <b>bias for automation, </b>you replace playbooks with code and eliminate toil wherever possible </li><li>A <b>product mindset, </b>you empathize with your users (other developers), gather feedback, and treat internal systems like customer-facing products </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, clear documentation and async updates are second nature to you </li><li>A love for clean abstractions, scalable systems, and improving developer workflows </li><li>Fluent in <b>English </b>(spoken and written) — itʼs our business language. </li></ul>
