About the role
The Senior Credit Analyst plays a critical role within our Restructuring and Turnaround Services team. This position involves conducting comprehensive credit analysis, monitoring distressed situations, and supporting the restructuring process to achieve optimal client outcomes. Working closely with senior team members, the Credit Analyst evaluates financial performance, identifies risks, and develops strategic recommendations.
Who You Are:
- 5+ plus years of experience in credit analysis, preferably in restructuring, distressed debt, or high-yield environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence.
- High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- CFA qualification is a plus.
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.
- Evidence of the ability to practice and coach organization managers in the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
- Strong executive presence.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff members.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the executive management team that provides overall company leadership and direction.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work in ever-changing, dynamic environments.
- Ability to craft and deliver verbal, written, and oral messages and make recommendations to a variety of audiences, including client leadership and internal teams.
- Desire to get involved in the Riveron culture and internal initiatives, including community service, training, interviewing, intramurals and other social/networking activities.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct thorough credit analysis of distressed and underperforming companies, evaluating liquidity, debt capacity, and financial performance.
- Develop and present investment theses and recommendations to senior management and clients.
- Monitor the market to identify distressed opportunities and convert them into actionable targets across various sectors and jurisdictions.
- Assist in preparing detailed internal and external reports, including performance attribution, portfolio optimization, and risk monitoring.
- Participate in debt restructurings, negotiate terms, and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Coordinate with legal, tax, compliance, operations, finance, and treasury teams to support client restructuring initiatives.
- Proactively screen for investment opportunities and support senior team members in strategic allocations and adjustments.
